our story

In early spring 2019 we quit or jobs, sold our house, packed up the dogs, and drove cross-country to start a new adventure on Vinalhaven. It was a great decision! We love the island, the people, and of course, the lobster.

The restaurant is named after each of our maternal grandmothers; Amy’s grandmother Dorothy and Kelly’s grandmother Mildred. If they were still with us, we are certain, they would be thrilled with this chapter in our lives.

We strive to offer good food in a comfortable atmosphere like we would if you came to our home for dinner.
